Customised Training Course
METS presented a customised training course to beneficiation plant operators at Ma’aden’s Al Jalamid phosphate plant in Saudi Arabia. The course was delivered by METS Metallurgical Manager and Consulting Metallurgist to a total of 90 attendees across 3 days per group in both the classroom and the beneficiation plant.
At METS, we understand that each business faces its own distinct challenges and concerns and our customised training option allows businesses the opportunity to provide personalised courses designed specifically to satisfy employees’ unique requirements. The team provided the delegates with a comprehensive understanding of the process and process monitoring techniques in phosphate beneficiation plants.
Project Brief
Outcome
The provision of specific on-site training of beneficiation plant operators in both classroom and field environments. Operators where enabled to think and work independently with metallurgical applications.
Background
Ma’aden is a diversified mining company, active in gold and base metals, phosphates, aluminium, industrial minerals and infrastructure industries. It was formed in 1997 for the purpose of facilitating the development of Saudi Arabia’s mineral resources and is the largest mining company in Saudi Arabia. The Al Jalamid site comprises the phosphate mine, beneficiation plant and supporting infrastructure.
Project Objectives
The objective of this training assignment was to supplement the operators’ initial training in the day-to-day routine of running the plant by provision of a theoretical background and practical on site guidance to achieve an advanced level of operating skills.
Challenges
The plant had been operated and operators had been trained by a third party provider, which constituted an additional challenge in developing the training package to a suitable standard for Ma’aden. Closely working with the team at Ma’aden allowed for a completely customised training experience that identified gaps in past training and requirements for ongoing efficient operation of the plant.
