Coal

Coal produced is generally marketed as either coking coal thermal or steaming coal: Coking coals are generally bituminous coals with varying amounts of volatiles present, but are commonly considered to be low moisture and low ash. These coals are generally ideal to process in a reducing atmosphere to form metallurgical coke used for iron and steel making. Steaming or thermal coal is coal that is burned to generate power. There aren’t fixed requirements for thermal coal however in general, higher ash, moisture or sulfur coals fetch lower prices.
